Dorothy H. Norris was the fourth child born to Leander Grady Norris and Beulah Edith Wolford. She was born May 29, 1929, Lubbock Co., TX. She married Jack Calvin Hewett October 4, 1947, Terry Co., TX. They lived in that part of TX until abt. 1949/50 when they moved to NM, living for a short time in Belen, where Jack worked for the railroad, and then settled in Mountainair where Jack was a farmer and rancher and Dorothy worked at a bank in Mountainair. When they retired they moved from the ranch outside of Mountainair to a house in town. Dorothy and Jack raised three children, one son and two daughters. At the time of her death, she was survived by her husband, Jack C. Hewett of the home; son, Kenneth Hewett of Mountainair; daughters, Audrey Vaughn of Grant, NM and Kelley Pounds and son-in-law Monty of Corona, NM; brother, Bill Norris and wife Gloria of Pampa, TX; sisters, Lela Beasley and husband Lloyd of Jasper, TX, Mildred Fulton and husband Francis "Red" of Pampa, TX and Naida Green and husband Tom of Liberty, MO; two grandchildren, Jason Vaughn and Jenna Pounds; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Leander Grady and Edith Norris; two brothers, Louis M. and Leander John "L.J." Norris and one sister, Katherine (Norris) Harper. Dorothy was a wonderful sister and is greatly missed by her family, friends and neighbors.
