Daughter of James Alfred Johnson and 2nd wife Laura Loretta Mitchum. After their marriage, the Johnsons moved from Sumter SC to Pike County AL during 1849/1850. (Redesignated as Crenshaw County in 1867.) In "The Heritage of Crenshaw County, Alabama" book by The Heritage Publishing Consultants Laura's name is given as Lauretta L Johnson in the article written by Joseph S Johnson Jr of Nashville TN. Laura married Robert Benjamin Richards on 6 October 1889. The book contains a photograph of Laura and her 4 children Preston Kenneth, Minnie Viola, Bobbie Lou(Harrelson), and James Benjamin Richards.
