N. A. Matteson, Portland Native, Dies In St. Louis

Funeral services for Norman Alexander Matteson, native of Callaway County, were held Saturday at Bolivar, Mo., with burial there also. Mr. Matteson died April 6 in St. Louis, where he had his home for the past year with a daughter, Mrs. Verona Rogers.
He was born on January 25, 1881, at Portland, son of the late A. A. and Hermena Matteson. His wife, the former Leona Lawson, died in 1934.
Mr. Matteson had farmed in the Portland area most of his life.
He is survived by three other daughters, Mrs. Lenora Meyer and Mrs. Alta Haynes, both of the state of Washington, and Mrs. Marie Cash, address unknown; five sons, Johnny Matteson, state of Washington, and William, Arthur, Dale and Clyde, all of the state of California; two brothers, Robert Matteson, Fulton, and John Matteson, St. Peter's, Mo.; five sisters, Mrs. Viola Moore, Kansas City, Mrs. Ethel Stewart, Lawson, Mo., Mrs. Belle Garriott, Fulton, Mrs. Anna Mae Werner, St. Louis, and Mrs. Eunice Dewey, DeSoto, Mo.; and five half-brothers and half-sisters.
