Obituary for Charles Edward Valentine from the Frederick Post of Tuesday Morning, March 11, 1930:

"Charles Edward Valentine, former Western Maryland Railroad agent at Keymar, died Sunday morning at 3:30 o'clock at the home of John N. Forrest, from heart trouble. He had been agent for a number of years up until two years ago when he retired on account of declining health. Mr. Valentine retired Saturday night apparently in his usual state when he was seized with a heart attack at 11 o'clock. His physician was summoned, but he was beyond aid and passed away four or five hours later. He was a son of the late James and Ella Valentine and was married to Miss Fannie K. Angel, who preceded him in death 17 years ago. He had been residing at the Forrest home for the last four years. Two brothers, Calvin H., Keysville, and John W., York, survive. He was affiliated with the Junior O. U. A. M. lodge of Taneytown. Funeral from the Forrest home this afternoon at 1:30 o'clock with interment in Mt. Zion (Haugh's) Cemetery. Rev. P. H. Williams, pastor of the Union Bridge Lutheran charge, will officiate. The Junior O. U. A. M. will conduct burial services."
