"1853. 29 March - James E. Valentine to Josephine Rodeniser near Miller's Bridge."
Obituary for Josephine Rodeniser Valentine from the New Oxford Item of Thursday, April 8, 1915:
"Mrs. Josephine Valentine, widow of James E. Valentine, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Ervin Fair, on the Joseph Holtz farm, at Holtz's Mill, near New Chester, at an early hour on Saturday morning, aged 83 years, 9 months and 18 days. Death was due to infirmities. She had been confined to her bed for the past 14 months. Her husband died 34 years ago. Surviving are four children: John Valentine, of Square Corner, Mount Pleasant Township; Charles, of Keymar, Calvin of Taneytown; and Mrs. Ervin Fair, with whom she resided; two sisters also survive, Mrs. Margaret Gimple, of Hagerstown, and Mrs. Catherine Beitler, of Rocky Ridge. The body was brought to this place and placed on the 9:45 o'clock train on Tuesday morning and shipped to Rocky Ridge, Maryland, where interment was made."

"MRS. JAMES VALENTINE. Mrs. Josephine Valentine, widow of James Valentine, died at her home near New Chester, on Saturday. She was a native of Frederick County, having resided for a number of years near Rocky Ridge. She leaves three sons, Charles, Calvin and John Valentine, and one daughter, Mrs. Ella Fair, of Thurmont. The body was taken to Rocky Ridge for interment, the funeral being held Tuesday afternoon at the joint Lutheran Church, that place."
