Funeral services for Mr. Ashley "Jack" Meador, 90, of Columbia were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 27 from the Riser Funeral Home Chapel in Columbia with the Rev. Johnny Miller officiating. Interment followed at the Bethany Cemetery in Hebert.
Mr. Meador, a retired custodian, was born on August 24, 1908 in Jackson Parish to the union of John and Fannie Dorris Meador. He died at the Citizens Medical Center on February 24, 1999 following an extended illness.
He was preceded in death by his wife: Thelma Jordan Meador, his daughter and son-in-law: Louise and Chester Ray Ellis and his son Tommy Meador.
Survivors include: his son Andrew J. Meador of Grayson, sons and daughter-in-law Charles and Gwen Meador of Columbia; and Ricky and Rhonda Meador of Guinn, AL; daughters and sons-in-law Avis and John Stamps of Fayette, AL and Annie and Fred McCoulough of Frost, TX, 21 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be grandsons.
Visitation was at the Funeral Home on Friday, Feb. 26 from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. and 8 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday.
