WINNFIELD — Funeral services were at 2 p.m. today at the chapel of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home for Thomas Ray Merdor [sic Meador], 67, of Joyce.

The Rev. Roy Moore and the Rev. John Holtzclaw officiated with burial at Old Union Cemetery near Joyce.

Mr. Merdor [sic Meador] died at 11:15 p.m. Sunday in the Winnfield General Hospital after a short illness.

A retired Civil Service employe, Mr. Merdor [sic Meador] was a veteran of World War II.

Survivors include one brother, Ashley Merdor [sic Meador] of Columbia; two sisters, Mrs. Effie Barton of Jonesboro, and Mrs. Hatty [sic Hettie] Streetman of Joyce; and a number of nieces and nephews.
