Annie Earline Meador Callender was born July 5, 1945 in Kelly, and passed from this life January 31, 2020 at St. Francis Medical Center in Monroe. She was the fifth child born to her parents, Ashley J. and Thelma Jordan Meador. Annie attended elementary and Jr. High school in Caldwell Parish, and graduated from Marion High in Lake Charles. She worked various jobs over the years, both in Texas and Louisiana, her last position being with the Caldwell Correction Center.

Annie was preceded in death by her parents, brothers: Tommy Meador and Andrew Meador; sisters: Louise Ellis and Avis Stamps; nephews: Billy Ellis, Robert Stamps, and Mike Stamps; niece: Lynn Miller.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Wallace (Bud) Callender; her son Stanley Sweet, granddaughter Cheyenne Sweet, grandson Jackson Sweet, all of New Braunfels, Texas; step-daughter Linda Callender of Columbia; step-son Mike Callender of Eureka, California; step-grandchildren David Callender (Christian), Karleigh Callender, Colby Callender, and Brae Dan Stevens; brothers Charles Meador (Gwen) of Columbia, and Ricky Meador of Guin, Alabama.

Funeral services will be held February 3, 2020 at 11:00 AM at Bethany Baptist Church in Hebert, with Bro. Bobby Wilson presiding. Interment will follow at Bethany Cemetery. Visitation will be from 8:00 AM until time of service. Pallbearers will be David Callender, Glenn Belk, Marvin Stevens, Bradley Stevens, Bobby Ellis, and Scott Meador.
