Mrs. George Houghton, a former resident of Mingo Junction, died at her home in East Liverpool on Wednesday aged 35 years. She had been in poor health for one and a half years. Her husband and four children, two brothers and two sisters survive.
She was born Mary Alberta Higgins, daughter of John Dallas Higgins and Ella Vermillion Higgins. She was preceded in death by her mother in 1901, and by an infant son, Herbert Houghton, in 1905. She was survived by her father, who would die the following year. Her surviving siblings were Charles D., John D. Jr, Benson S., Anna Blanche, Ada Catherine, & Olive May, plus a step-mother and step-siblings.
Her children were Herbert, Naomi L., Ruth, Mary Louise, and Esther.
