Clarence Higgins, 78, of 386 1/2 W. Pennsylvania Ave., Sebring, died at 6:52 p.m. Thursday at the Alliance City Hospital following a two-year illness.
He was born November 23, 1907, in Warrenton, the son of the late John Dallas Higgins and Sarah MacElfresh Higgins.
He was a Veteran of the US Army Air Force in World Wat II.
He is survived by his wife, Hazel Marie (Morwith) Humphreys Higgins; two daughters, Wanda Jean Higgins, of Alliance, and Eileen Morwith, of Sebring; three sons, David R., Larry O., and Martin D., all of Alliance; a twin sister, Gladys Young, of Calcutta; and five grandchildren.
He also was preceded in death by a granddaughter.
Services will be held at 3 p.m. Monday at the Sharer-Stirling Funeral Home in Alliance with the Rev. Ed Mosher officiating. Burial will be at Highland Memorial Park near Beloit.
Friends may call one hour prior to the Monday service.

Clarence was the son of John Dallas Higgins & His 2nd wife, Sarah "Sally" McElfresh. His twin sister, Gladys, was raised by their older half-sister, Adelia Catherine "Ada" Higgins & her husband, Charles Frances Wood, who immigrated from England in 1904. Charles & Ada could not have children of their own.
All of Clarence & Gladys's full siblings died young, though they had several half-siblings. In 1920, both of his parents died, leaving him & his last remaining sibling, sister Margaret. Clarence moved in with Charles, Ada, & his twin Gladys as shown on the 1930 US Census, but it is unknown exactly what happened to Margaret.
