Jake Baines,Jr. was born November 24, 1941 in Wilson, North Carolina to Jake Baines Sr. and the late Maggie Baines, also of Wilson, North Carolina. Jake Jr. departed this life on February 15, 1986 in his home at 357 Franklin Avenue in Brooklyn, New York.
Jake attended Wilson Grammar Schools and graduated from Darden High School in Wilson, North Carolina. After completing High School, Jake joined the United States Army and served for two years. Jake achieved the Domain of the Golden Dragon 180 Meridian. Jake was honorably discharged as a Private First Class. Jake was a dedicated employee of the New York Postal Services for ten years. Jake worked faithfully until his health began to fail.
Jake leaves to cherish his loving memories, two sons; Jake Reynolds and Rodney Baines; one daughter, Tonya Bainea; five brothers, John Davis Baines, Willie Gray Baines, Charles Baines, Anthony Baines, Christopher Baines; six sisters, Dorothy Dingle, Virginia Williams, Lillie Marie King, Jackie Baines, Helen Baines, Paulette Baines; one grandson, Walladell Baines; four aunts; three uncles; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, friends and a very special friend long-time companion, Polly Ruth Harden.
