Anthony Baines, son of the late Jake and Maggie Baines, was born on March 16, 1956 in Wilson, North Carolina. He was one of thirteen children born from the union. On September 26, 2002, Anthony was called home to be with the Lord. Anthony was baptized at an early age. He attended the Tabernacle of Faith Church located in Havre de Grace, MD. He attended Bushwick High School in Brooklyn, New York and later enlisted in the U.S. Army. After serving his country, he furthered his education by completing a commercial cooking and catering course at the New York Food and Hotel Management School. Anthony had a love for music especially when it came to playing his guitar. He also enjoyed singing and listening to his favorite group, "The Whispers". Preceding Anthony in death were two brothers Jake, Jr. and James; and one sister Dorothy. He leaves to cherish his memory two loving children Ayanna and Derrain Baines of New York; four brothers, John Baines of New York, Dennis Baines of Baltimore, MD, Charles Baines of Havre de Grace, MD, and Chris Baines of New York; five sisters Virginia William of Baltimore, MD, Lillie King of New York, Jackie Baines, Helen Watkins both of Aberdeen, MD, and Paulette Cantlow of Edgewood, MD; and a host of in-laws, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Service will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday October 2, 2002 at Lisa Scott Funeral Home 552 Lewis Street, Havre de Grace, MD. Burial will be in Garrison Forest Veterans Cemetery, Owings Mills, MD.~~~~~Obituary, Delmarva Obits.
