Obituary of Donald Oller, son of Henry and Vera Oller published in the Hillsboro Journal, December 1, 1915.
BOY CRUSHED BY TIES
Little Donald Oller, son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Oller, of Harvel, and who would have been four years old on the 29rd of February, had his short life crushed out by railroad ties which fell on him Wednesday afternoon, when he attempted to climb over a pile of the timbers. Death, it is thought, was instantaneous and it is believed, that the child had been dead about an hour when found as he had been gone from the house about that length of time. Three of the heavy ties fell on the child, pinning him to earth and crushing his body at the breast. He was found in this position later by his grief-sticken mother.
The child was born in Witt, and his parents have lived in Harvel but a short time. He is survived by his parents and a little brother, Willis, who was 15 months old.
Coroner Gray held an inquest over the body in Harvel, Thursday before noon. The funeral arrangements had not been made at the time of our going to press.
