Mrs Caroline Viola Walker, 73, widow of J.C. Walker, died at her home at 2115 Barnett Avenue early last night after a short illness.
Funeral services will be held from the Southside Baptist Church Wednesday morning at 10 o'clock, with the Rev. J.O. Walton assisted by the Rev. Woodrow Bullard and Dr. A.J. Barton officiating. At the close of the service, the funeral cortege will leave for Freeman, where interment will take place in the Wilkins cemetery.
Mrs Walker is survived by nine daughters, Mrs E.T. Herring, Mrs W.M. McNeil and Mrs George Twiggs of Wilmington; Mrs W.H. Hudson of Rockingham; Mrs J.A. Adams of Graham; Mrs O.C. Garrell of Durham; Mrs H.B. Glosson of Burlington; Mrs H.T. Jolley and Mrs J.P. McNeil of Roanoke Rapids; five sons, W.H. Walker of Wilmington, C.M. Walker of Fayetteville, M.C. Walker of High Point, Rufus Walker of Lexington, and J.T. Walker of Burlington, two brothers, H.B. Wilkins of Wilmington and M.F. Wilkins of Freeman; 50 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
