Ethel died at 1 1/2 months of age while traveling by covered wagon with her parents and 3 older brothers from Kansas to Oklahoma and was originally buried somewhere along the way. After the death of her brother who was born later her body was moved to be buried in Cooper Cemetery with her brother Raymond whose name is included on the grave stone. Her parents may have been looking for land to homestead. They settled in Cooper,later named Hitchcock,Oklahoma and lived in a sod house for about 2 years before returning to Kansas.
