He had lived here most of his life and had been employed for 16 years as a fireman at the Bangor State Hospital. He was a member of Star in the West Masonic Lodge in Unity.
Survivors include his widow, Evelyn; his mother of Palmyra; four sons, George of Troy, Raymond of Oakland, John of Littleton, N.H. and Kenneth of Pittsfield; two sisters, Mrs. Nola Higgins of Thorndike and Mrs. Myra Wood of Palmyra; 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Donald Shorey Funeral Chapel in Pittsfield today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 8. Funeral services will be held at the Unity Union Church Tuesday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. George Fowler officiating. Burial will be in the Pond Cemetery in Unity.
