MRS. HENRIETTA ADAMS
DIES IN HOSPITAL
Henrietta Allbright Adams, one of the best know women of southern Parke county, died in St. Anthony's hospital, Terre Haute, Sunday afternoon. She had entered the hospital several weeks ago when her gradually failing health became active illness. Mrs. Adams was 84 years old, the daughter of John and Rachel Barnes Allbright. A native of Raccoon township, she interited the strength of mind and body that had made her pioneer ancestors notable figures. On completing the schooling afforded by her neighborhood, she entered and was graduated from Central Normal college and taught in Colorado, California and in the Parke county schools, prior to her marriage to William Adams. She was a member of the Friendly Grove Baptist church, a charter member of the Rosedale Shakespeare club, a member of Dorothy Q. chapter D.A.R. and of the Rosedale Rebekah lodge. In every association of her life, she was beloved.
Surviving are a brother, Thomas Allbright of Brazil; a sister, Mrs. Sarah Keller, who shared Mrs. Adams' home; a brother-in-law John B. Hartman of Bridgeton and a number of nieces and nephews. Her husband died in 1927.
A largely attended funeral was held in the Cox & Williams funeral home, Rosedale, Tuesday afternoon, conducted by Rev. Hand of Pontiac, Ill. Burial in the Adams cemetery.
