Born Nov. 2, 1914 in Spur, she was the daughter of Benjamine Franklin and Annie May Black Saxon. She came to Carthage in 1939 and married S.P. Moseley. They celebrated almost 50 years of marriage before he preceded her in death in 1984.
Phillips worked for Phillips Fabrics for 18 years, Panola College for two years and Cox Jewelry for six years before she retired. She then married Joe Phillips on Jan. 4, 1989. She was preceded in death by her first husband and a step-son, Carol A. Moseley.
Survivors include her husband, Joe Phillips, of Carthage; son and daughter-in-law, Bobby and Toni Moseley, of Carthage; daughter and son-in-law, Doris Ann and Kenneth Hartley, of Carthage; brother and sister-in-law, Billy B. and Mary Saxon, of Bosque Farms, N.M.; step-daughter-in-law, Betty Moseley, of Longview; grandchildren, Bridgette Smith and husband Billy, and Chris Funderburk and wife Candi, all of Florine, La.; and Jason Funderburk and wife Kim, and Blake Parker Moseley, all of Carthage.
Also surviving Phillips are her step-grandchildren, Kenneth Moseley, and Mark Moseley and wife Jamie, all of Longview, Melinda Vandenburg and husband Joe, of Dallas, and Mary Jane Taylor and husband Sam, of Longview; 11 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
Pallbearers were Parker Moseley, Jason Funderburk, Chris Funderburk, Kenneth Moseley, Mark Moseley and Larry Canoy.
The family request donations be made to Hospice of Longview or the American Cancer Society.
