Annie Mae Saxon, 93, of Carthage died Monday in Panola General Hospital.

Funeral services will be held today at 2:30 p.m. from the chapel of Hawthorn Funeral Home, with Rev. H.B. Roquemore and Rev. Eugene Cox to officiate. Interment will be in Restland Memorial Park.

Mrs. Saxon was a native of Wood County, Texas, and the daughter of James and Sally Cater Black. She had been a resident of Carthage since 1954, moving from Spur, Texas. A homemaker, she was a member of Pisgah Methodist Church.

Mrs. Saxon was preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin Franklin Saxon, Aug. 25, 1973. She is survived by a son, Billy B. Saxon of Albuquerque, N.M.; a daughter, Rowena Moseley of Carthage; a brother, Conrad Black of New Boston, Texas; three sisters, Mrs. Willie Clark of Boyd, Texas, Mrs. Ola Orr of Vernon, Texas, and Mrs. Georgia Scott of Tyler; four grandchildren, Doris Ann Moseley Funderburk of Florien, La.; Bobby Moseley of Carthage, Lanis Robert Saxon of Denver, Colo., and Royce Saxon of Albuquerque; nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
