Rev. D. M. Campbell Dead. February 15, 1932
Rev. Daniel Morgan Campbell, 72, retired Methodist preacher, died at 12:30 o'clock Sunday morning at his home 415 East. He had been in poor health the past two years. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 o'clock Tuesday afternoon at the Roberts-Blue funeral chapel. Rev. C. L. Hovgard, pastor of the First Methodist church, will conduct the services and internment will be in Evergreen cemetery, south of Emporia.
Mr. Campbell was born January 5, 1860, at Danville, Ohio. He came to Kansas in 1885 as a school teacher. He taught 11 years, first as Carbondale and Scranton, before entering the ministry. Mr. Campbell was married October 1, 1890, to Miss Minnie E. Eby at Paola. The family moved to Emporia in 1912, and Mr. Campbell had several Methodist charges, including those at Chicago Mound, Zion and Grandview, until he retired in 1922.
Mr. Campbell is survived by Mrs. Campbell; two sons, Glenn Campbell, of the home, and Guy B. Campbell, 409 Cottonwood; three daughters, Mrs. Vern Morray, of the home; Mrs. H. H. Perkins, of Beaumont, Texas, and Mrs. J. L. Crabtree of Pueblo, and two sisters and four brothers.
