Hazel Muriel Barber, 96, died Jan. 10, 1997, at Grisell Long Term Care Center, Ransom. She was born July 25, 1900, at Ransom, the daughter of Adelbert Harry and Mary Lynn Barber.
A lifetime resident of Ness County, she was a schoolteacher for over 42 years. She was a member of the church of Christ at Ransom, Beta Gamma Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma, teacher’s sorority, the Senior Citizens of Ransom, and the KNEA of Kansas.
She is survived by many nephews and nieces.
Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Monday in the Ransom Cemetery, with Pastor John Wearden presiding. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Ness City.
Memorials may be sent to the church of Christ, Ransom, or to Grisell Long Term Care Center, in care of the funeral home.
