ADELBERT BARBER
Adelbert Harry “Bud” Barber, 65, a life-long resident of Ransom, died Saturday, May 14, 1983 at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita. He was a retired farmer and substitute mail carrier. Born March 9, 1918, at Ransom, he married Donna Briscoe September 10, 1975, at WaKeeney. He was a member of the church of Christ of Ransom, a Navy veteran of World War II, member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post No. 7972, Ransom, and the American Legion at Brownell. He is survived by his wife of the home: two sisters, Hazel Barber of Ransom and Marie Paris of Pratt; a step-son, Leslie Schreiber of Melbourne, Fla., three step-daughters, Mrs. Sharon Long of Orlando, Fla., Mrs. Shirley Carraway of Cape Canaveral, Fla., and Mrs. Sheila Wilson of Cocoa, Fla.; and 13 step-grandchildren. The funeral was Tuesday afternoon at the Fitzgerald Funeral Home in Ness City with Bro. Ron Friberg of the Ransom church of Christ and Bro. Bill Buggeln of the Great Bend church of Christ officiating.
Burial was in the Ransom Cemetery with military graveside services by the Ransom VFW. The family suggests memorials to the Ransom church of Christ building fund.
