Thomas "Tom" Brown Snead and Nellie Lucretia Baalke were married February 4, 1907, in Hinsdale, Valley Co., Montana.
The couple had eight children:
Fern, Ruth, Robert, Helen, Jack, Dorothy, James, and Baby Snead.
They lived in Montana for the first years of their marriage, moving to the Pullman, Washington, area, where Nettie and her baby died on January 17, 1925.
Tom Snead relocated to Clark Co., Washington, with his young family, where he lived the remainder of his life.

"Her family moved to Hinsdale, Valley County, Montana, in 1900. She was 13 years old. Nettie had her mother's ability to accomplish a number of things. She was talented in sewing and making clothes."
