Alma Sophia Korb died Friday, Aug. 15, 2008, at Hillcrest Nursing Home in McCook, Neb., at the age of 97.

She was born Feb. 5, 1911, in Antalope County, Neb., the daughter of the late Edmond and Mercedes (Haskins) Hubbard. She grew up in Wyoming where she graduated from Fort Laramie, Wyo., High School in 1929.

On Jan. 3, 1933, Alma married Raleigh Thomas Korb at Gering, Neb. For 45 years they farmed in Frontier County, Neb., before moving to McCook in 1977, where her husband began working at the West Sale Barn until retiring in 1990.

She enjoyed flower gardening and shared many varities with friends and relatives.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Raleigh on July 30, 1991; daughter-in-law, Thelma on Sept. 26, 1983; seven brothers, Oscar, Arthur, Guy, Earl, Charlie, Clarence, Jasper; and three sisters, Edna Geisler, Sarah Ritterling and Auralea Hubbard.

Alma is survived by one son, Terry Korb of McCook; three grandchildren, Terry Korb Jr., William Korb and Amy Inchouriga; one great-granddaughter, Mariana Inchounga; one sister, Lottie Faith of Creighton, Neb.; and relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2008, at Herrmann Memorial Chapel in McCook, with the Rev. Dr. Jeffery Thurman officiating.
