Edmund W. Hubbard died suddenly at his home south of town last Friday at the age of 78 years.

Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, January 24, at the Methodist Church in Creighton with the Rev. H.F. Beebe, pastor, officiating. Burial was in Enterprise Cemetery.

Edmund Wilmot Hubbard, eldest son of Cynthia Jane and Edmund Hubbard, was born April 30, 1871 at Middletown, Vt.

When he was 15 years old, he moved to Antelope county with his other, sister and brother.

On Dec. 23, 1897, he was united in marriage to Mercedes Haskin at Neligh. To this union 12 children were born; Oscar of Kennewick, Wash., Arthur of Norfolk, Edna Geisler of Creighton, Guy of Fort Laramie, Wyo., Earl of Stanton, Charlie of Pueblo, Colo., Alma Korb of Indianola, Everal Ritterling of Fort Laramie, Wyo., Clarence of Lusk, Wyo, Lottie Faith of Creighton and Auralea and Jasper at home.

In 1927, he moved his family to Fort Laramie, Wyo., where they remained for 20 years. In 1947, they returned to Nebraska.

Surviving are his wife, children, 30 grandchildren, two great grandchildren, one brother, Arthur, of Fort Laramie, Wyo., a niece, two nephews and other relatives.
