Funeral services for Mr. Fredrick Lee Funk, 59, of Hornbeck will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, April 25, in the Hixson Funeral Home chapel in Leesville with the Rev. Donnie Masters officiating. Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Hornbeck. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. today, April 24, and from 8 a.m. until time of service Friday in the funeral home. Mr. Funk died Tuesday, April 22, in his residence. He served as a sergeant first class from the U.S. Army after 22 years of duty, serving during the Vietnam conflict, where we was the recipient of two Purple Hearts. He was employed with the U-Haul Company of Northern Louisiana for 11 years. Survivors include his wife, Virginia Bridgewater Funk of Hornbeck; three sons, Eric Wayne Funk of Temple, Texas, Fredrick Lee Funk II of Hornbeck and Andrew Alonzo Funk of West Hazelton, Pa.; one daughter, Geneva Marie Funk Sigler of Hornbeck; five brothers, Charles Funk, William Funk and Mick Funk, all of Terre Haute, Ind., Richard Funk of Carrollton, Ga., and Larry Funk of Buena Park, calif.; three sisters, Dorothy Funk Armstrong of Phoenix, Ariz., Margaret Funk Cude of Tulsa, Okla., and Evelyn Funk Nevins of Brazil, Ind., and seven grandchildren.
