Richard Marvin Funk Sr. passed away peacefully in his sleep at his home on Friday, September 22, 2017, in Carrollton, Georgia, at the age of 77.
Richard is predeceased by his parents, James Alonzo and Katherine Marie (Engle) Funk; his daughter, Cheryl (Funk) LeCocq; and 15 of his siblings.
He leaves his loving wife of 57 years, Josephine Frances (Peters) Funk; his daughter, Carol (Funk) Fulton; his three sons, Richard Funk Jr., James Funk and Robert Funk; his 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
He was born February 3, 1940, in Terre Haute, Indiana. He worked for 32 years at Sony Music at both the Terre Haute, Indiana, and Carrollton, Georgia, locations. He retired in 1995.
He loved to sing, dance and spend time with his family and friends. He and his joke-telling will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
In accordance with his wishes, there will be no memorial services. His family will honor him in a private ceremony.
