Evelyn "Butterfly Lady" (Funk) Nevins, 72, of Brazil, passed away on December 22, 2013 at Cloverleaf Nursing Home with her family by her side.

Evelyn was born February 26, 1941 in Terre Haute, the daughter of the late James and Marie (Engle) Funk. Evelyn married Ross Eldon Nevins on September 2, 1977. She was known to be a wonderful caregiver where she would care for family and friends.

Evelyn was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church, where she was a part of American Baptist Women's Missionary Group, service committee, Sunday School Superintendent, and her Sunday school class, Hi Shi Ni. She was a member of Indiana Homemakers Club and sang with Melody Makers.

She enjoyed going to church and being with her church family, going on motorcycle rides across the country with her husband, and was known to be very crafty. Some of the crafts she would partake in were scrapbooking, needle point, crocheting, jewelry making, and quilting. Evelyn was very fond of butterflies where she would collect anything that had a butterfly on it.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband of 31 years, Ross Nevins; parents, James and Marie Funk; siblings, James Robert, Odis Eugene, Jessie Rosco, John Parker, Marion LeRoy, Betty Florence, Dorothy Ellen, Kenny, Shirley Marie, Fredrick Lee, Melba Pauline.

She is survived by her sons, Joe Church and wife Melanie, Randy Nevins and wife Jacque, Rick Nevins and wife Nancy; daughter, Donna Williams and husband Tim; siblings, Charles Elmer, William Jefferson and wife Kathleen, Richard Marvin and wife Frankie Jo, Larry Francis, Clarence Michael and wife Dixie, Peggy Sue Cude and husband Tex; grandchildren, Chad Bradshaw, Miranda Church, Kenny Nevins and wife Jody, Kori Gray and husband Harold, Shannon Nevins, Shelly Atkinson and husband DJ, Doug Nevins, Erica Thompson, Nichole Keller and husband Ryan; 10 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
