Belle was the daughter of Nathaniel R. Hickman, Sr., and Elizabeth Waring Canon Hickman (Stainer).
She married Emmett Lee Galloway on June 26, 1901.
They were the parents of three sons and three daughters.

OBITUARY FROM THE LIBERTY VINDICATOR:
Rites Held Monday for Mother of Hardin Man
Funeral services were held on Monday afternoon at the graveside at Peebles Cemetery in Goodrich for Mrs. Sarah Bell Galloway, 69, of Highlands, who died in a local hospital on Sunday afternoon. Mrs. Galloway is the mother of Curtis Galloway of Hardin. Other survivors include one daughter, Mrs. A. J. Courtney of Highlands; twin sons, Emmett Lee of Highlands and Lee Emmett, who is in the army; two sisters, two brothers, one half-brother, nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Pace-Stancil Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
