On January 1, 1913 he was united in marriage to Dora agnes Groff at Claremont, Illinois.
Mr Dowty spent his entire life as a farmer.
He was converted when he was 39 years olf at the Mt. Pleasant Church where he remained a faithful member until his death.
He leaves to mourn his passing his wife, Dora and the following children; Alice Marie Mitchell of Claremont, Marguerite Bennett of Sumner and Lester Dowty of Claremont. He also leaves Son-in-laws Carroll Mitchell and Woodrow Bennett of Sumner, a daughter-in-law Lora Doan Dowty of Claremont, 8 grandchildren - 4 great grandchildren. He leaves a brother, John Dowty of Yukon, Oklahoma, a host of relatives and many friends and neighbors.
He is preceded in death by his parents, six brothers, Harvey, Franklin,Eli, William, Charles and Henry Dowty.
