Alma Ransdell Baker, 89, of Perryville, died Sunday April 17, 2005 in Winchester. Born April 5, 1916 in Mercer County, she was the daughter of the late Huntley and Virginia Gritton Ransdell. She was the widow of John William "J. W." Baker II.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Perryville Baptist Church.

Survivors include: two daughters, Arlene Woods, College Station, TX and Bonita "Bonnie" Gullett, Richmond; three sons, Karen Allen Baker, Indianapolis, IN, John William "Jackie" Baker III, Ringgold, GA, Warren Kent Baker, Yorktown, PA; one brother, Everett Ransdell, Grand Junction, CO; 10 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, April 20 at the Perryville Baptist Church with Rev. Dan Hunt officiating.

Grandsons served as pallbearers.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Perryville Baptist Church.

Wilder Funeral Home in Perryville was in charge of arrangements.
