HARRODSBURG, Ky. A 65-year-old Mercer County man was killed late Saturday when he was struck near Harrodsburg by a Southern Railway freight grainy police said. Police said Curtis Ransdell Sr.'s body Was discovered early yesterday, hours after the accident, by an engineer of a northbound train. . ! The Mercer County coroner, Dr. Frank Whalen, said Ransdell's skull was fractured.

A Mercer man killed by train Ransdell was a retired farmer. Survivors include four sons, Carroll. Ransdell of Jacksonville, Fla., Lawrence Ransdell of Smithfield, Va., Kenneth Ray Ransdell of Andrews Air Force Base, Md., and Curtis Dale Ransdell of Mercer County, and five grandchildren,

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. tomorrow at the Ransdell Funeral Home in Harrodsburg with burial in Spring Hill.
