Virginia Pate, 88, of 1201 Markham St., died at 5:45 a.m. Wednesday at Medco Center of Paducah.

Mrs. Pate was a member of Temple Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband, Herman I. Pate; three daughters, Louise Myrick of Reidland, Sue Nell Spees of Freemont, and Mary E. Dowdy of Paducah; 13 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Two daughters, Jean McCann and Joann Harton, preceded her in death. Her parents were William and Mattie St. John.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Lindsey Funeral Home. Mrs. Pate's grandson, the Rev. Virgil Diel, will officiate. Burial will be in Maplelawn Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 5 p.m. today.
