Loretta was born July 29, 1928, in Pollock, to Roy Bennett and Ethel Altizer Morlan. Her father preceded her in death. Her mother lives in Marshalltown, IA.
She married Vadis McPherson Sr. on Nov. 9, 1947 in Roswell. He survives her at the family home.
Other survivors include a son, Vadis "Sonny" McPherson, Jr of Roswell; three daughters, Becky Marr and husband Richard, Linda Dickinson and husband Thomas, and Dorie Isler and husband Virdis, all of Roswell.
Also surviving are four brothers, James Morlan of Pollock; Fred Morlan, Kirksville; Don Morlan, Worthington, OH; and Ray Morlan, Eldora, IA; four sisters, Margaret Handley, Harris; Virginia Worsfold, Marshalltown, IA; Olive Seavey, Harris; and Ruby Hartke, Des Moines, IA. Six grandchildren also survive.
She was preceded in death by a sister Jerry Higgason.
Mrs. McPherson had been a Roswell resident for 27 years and was a member of South Manor Baptist Church. She was a homemaker, and in her early years she had worked for Mountain States Telephone Co.
Pallbearers were Tommy Britt, Tony Dickinson, Charles Groseclose, Bill Koenig, Gary Parson and Herman Parson. Honorary bearers were Lenny Isler, Dero LeFevers and John Stockard.
Friends may make memorials to the American Cancer Society.
