WELSH - Effie Marie Chais-son, 71, died Thursday, March 11, 2004, in a Jennings hospi-tal.She was a native of Basile and had lived in Welsh for 40 years. She was a member of Our Lady of Seven Dolors Catholic Church.Survivors include her son, David Dale Chaisson and wife Linda of Hathaway; two daughters, Cathy Richard and husband Ronald of new Iberia and Sarah Meyer and husband Russell of Scott; two brothers, Hugh Deshotel of Mermentau and Druce Deshotel of Jennings; four sisters, Audry Pousson of Iota, Elverda Doga of Jennings, Gurtis Kufel of Gray and Anna Mae LeBlanc of Hathaway; 11 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Melvin and Annie Deshotel; her husband, Eldridge Chaisson; one son, Allen Chaisson; and one sister, Louella Andrepont.Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 13, from Our Lady of Seven Dolors Catholic Church of Welsh. The Rev. Richardf Adivkwu will officiate. Burial will be in Our Lady of Seven Dolors Ceme-tery under the direction of Hixson Funeral Home of Welsh. Visitation is 2-9 p.m. today, with rosary at 6 p.m., and from 8 a.m. Saturday.
