Daughter of Stephen and Ariadne Moore Hobson. First married a man whose surname was Johnson; no known children from this union. Mary Jane then married Edwin G. Copeland in October 1857. One daughter, Mary Ariadne Copeland was born (July 20, 1858 - August 8, 1858). In 1860, Edwin removed to Nahunta township and married Sally A. Pearson.
