Richard A. LaMora
Richard LaMora, 58, of 18 South St., Gouverneur, retired General Motors employee, died Monday afternoon, Oct 21, 1985, in Edward John Noble Hospital.
The funeral was held Tuesday morning at 10 in St. James Church, with Rev. Gerald Service, pastor, officiating. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery. Arrangements were with Burr-Green Funeral Home.
He is survived by a brother, Clarence F., Richville; a sister, Mrs. George (Helen) Serviss, Shallotte, N.C., and nieces and nephews. Four brothers and four sisters died before him. [Sic. He had just one sister, and she was living.]
He was born at Tupper Lake, April 17, 1927, son of Charles R. and Mary LaRose LaMora, and was graduated from Gouverneur High School.
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was aboard the destroyer USS St. Paul when it was sunk in the Pacific.
He later was graduated from Cincinnati Fine Arts College, Ohio, attended Bard Art Academy, and received a master's degree from Wayne University.
He was employed by the Cadillac Division, General Motors, Detroit Mich., until retiring due to illness in 1962.
He was a member of St. James Church and Silas Wainwright Post 6336, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Gouverneur.

Actually, he completed high school after his WW-II service, and was the senior class president in 1948.
