Clark, Margaret Elinor (Bueker)
Sept 1, 1935 to Oct 25, 2021
Saginaw, Michigan

Our beloved mother Margaret Elinor Clark, passed peacefully on Monday October 25, 2021 in Saginaw, Michigan. Margaret was born on September 1, 1935 to John Wesley Bueker and Margaret Anna (Hoff) Bueker in Saginaw, Michigan. She was raised on the family farm in Kochville Township. Margaret loved to tell stories of her life on the farm chasing chickens, milking cows, preserving foods, and winning awards at the county fair for her exceptional preserves and pies. As a schoolgirl, she showed incredible energy and talent for school politics, social organizations and sports, which carried through her entire life. She was a graduate of Arthur Hill High School in 1953 and Central Michigan University in 1957. She was proud to have been Homecoming Queen her senior year. Margaret was a young teacher at Saginaw High School when the school principal introduced her to attorney Daniel E. Clark, whom she married in 1960. Margaret left teaching when she had children, but later in life taught adult high school, directed the Salvation Army Daycare, and operated her public relations business 'Extensions'.

Margaret was an extraordinarily capable woman; smart with a wonderful sense of humor and a perfectly manicured lawn. Her competitive nature and natural athleticism won her many contests while her cheerful giving nature won her many friends. The performing arts were a great joy of hers and she made sure her children and grandchildren had the opportunity to experience them. Margaret was a marvelous cook and homemaker who taught her children everything she knew, including the joy of hard work.

Margaret generously gave her time and talents to the Saginaw community. If she became involved in any organization, she usually became one of its leaders. Her activities and awards were numerous, including Junior League, Lawyers Auxiliary, United Way, Saginaw Township School Board, Saginaw Bay Symphony Orchestra, Saginaw Historical Society and Castle Museum, Field Neurosciences Institute and more. She was a past member of First United Methodist and First Congregational Churches, and the Saginaw Country Club. Margaret enjoyed golfing, hiking, bridge, gardening, and entertaining. Although her children were all swimmers, divers and water skiers, Margaret preferred to excel at sports that did not involve getting her hair wet. And like many good mothers, she waited patiently until 5 o'clock to celebrate each day with a little Crown Royal.

Margaret and Daniel were married for 36 years and had three children of whom she was so proud: Nancy (Jeffrey) O'Hare, Steven (Kathleen) Clark, and Paul Clark (Tamara Strandberg).

Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Elmer Clark in 1996; sister Dr. Kathleen Bueker, brothers Wesley and John Bueker, brothers-in-law John Stevens and Floyd (Donamary) Clark, Jr.

Margaret is survived by her sister, Ruth Bueker Stevens; sisters-in-law Mary Hubbard Bueker and Michele Groomes Bueker. Grandchildren: Amra (Joe) Bader, Kyle Clark, Alex Clark (Lindsay Grajek), Lily Clark, Molly Clark, Daniel Clark, Hunter O'Hare, Isabelle O'Hare, and many beloved nieces and nephews and grand dogs.

We are so appreciative of the exceptional care given to our mother by the staff of New Hope Valley Assisted Living & Memory Care and Cardinal Hospice. We are so grateful for their love and attention to our Darling Mother during this horrible pandemic. We could not have done it without them.

Margaret desired cremation and we have honored her wish.

A Memorial Service will be held at 12:00 p.m., noon, on Friday October 29, 2021 at the Saginaw Country Club, 4465 Gratiot, Saginaw, MI 48638. Margaret's family will greet friends beginning at 10:00 a.m.

In lieu of flowers and for continued research of Alzheimer's Disease, Margaret would suggest donation to Field Neuroscience Institute or a favorite Saginaw charity of your choosing.
