Wesley Junior Bueker "Wes", age 86, Ludington, Michigan, died August 14, 2013 at his home.

Wes was born August 19, 1926 in Saginaw, Michigan to John Wesley and Margaret Anna (Hoff) Bueker. He was the eldest of five children who grew up on a farm in Kochville Township, Saginaw County. He attended Jewett Elementary School, South Junior High School, and Arthur Hill High School, graduating in 1944. Wes lived and worked on the farm until 1950 when the farm discontinued its dairy operation. He then started working for Capital Airlines, which later became United Airlines. He retired in 1984, after 34 years of service. While working for United he began taking classes at Delta College and ultimately graduated with an Associate Degree.

Wes married Mary L. Hubbard on August 28, 1954 in Marion, Michigan. They celebrated 58 years together. Wes and Mary built a home on the family farm where they lived for 47 years. In 2002 they moved to Marion to be near Mary's family. Wes and Mary moved to Ludington in 2011 to be closer to their daughter.

Wes served as a Kochville Township Trustee and on the Kochville Zoning Board of Appeals. He also served on the Brown Airport Board. Wes was a charter member of the Kochville Lions Club where he served as President from 1993-1994; Secretary from 1993 to 1996; was elected Lion of the Year in 2000-2001, and received a Distinguished Service Award. When he moved to Marion he joined the Cadillac Lions Club. Wes enjoyed reading and served on the Library Board for the Village of Marion. He grew up attending Kochville Methodist Church. After marriage he joined Community of Christ Church, serving as a Deacon, Priest and Elder as well as Treasurer. He enjoyed trips to Hawaii, Germany and Switzerland, and trips to Arizona and New Mexico with Joyce and Jim Kelley, and many, many trips to Kansas to visit with family. In his younger years he enjoyed the annual trip to deer camp in Alcona County. Wes enjoyed a good game of Euchre, Superbowl parties with his siblings, cousin's reunions, music of all genres, writing poetry, and especially CANDY!

Wes is survived by his wife, Mary; daughter Lori Jo (Frank) Longmore of Ludington, Michigan; daughter Beth Ann Thomas of Macomb County, Michigan and her children, Aaron of Macomb County, and Heather (Jared) Smith of Birmingham Alabama; son David Wesley (Tracy) of Osawatomie, Kansas and their children, John (Heather) of Paola Kansas, Katie and Anna of Manhattan, Kansas; son Brian Wayne (Cheryl) of Spring Hill, Kansas, and their children Megan (Tommy) Rand of Houston, Texas, Jacob and Aleah of Spring Hill. John and Heather are the parents of Wes' great-grandchildren, Gabriel, McKenna, and Jae. Wes is also survived by his sisters Margaret Clark and Ruth (John) Stevens, his sister-in-law Michele Bueker; and Mary's brother, sisters, and their spouses, Carl (Ruth) Hubbard, Joyce (Jim) Kelley, Shirley (Bill) Dodds, Don Gillmore, Beverly (Bill) Kibby, Sandra (Dorian) Dobias, many nieces and nephews and scores of friends. He was a loving and caring husband and father and was respectful to everyone.

Wes was preceded by his parents, his sister Kathleen Bueker, brother John Bueker, his brother-in-law Daniel Clark, sisters-in-law Barbara Bielby, Sharon Hubbard, Carol Gillmore, and Mary's parents Miles and Adah Hubbard.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 24, 11:00 a.m. at Community of Christ church, 16505 Thirtieth Avenue (M-66), Marion, Michigan. A visitation will take place at 10:00 a.m. until time of service.

An additional service will also be held Sunday, August 25, 2:00 p.m. at Community of Christ church, 300 North Center Road, Saginaw, Michigan. Visitation will take place at 12:30 p.m. until time of service.

A private family committal service will take place at Greenwood Cemetery in Marion, Michigan
