OBITUARY EMMA CLYDIE OLMSTEAD CHILD

ROY—Mrs. Emma Clydie Olmstead Child, 96, of 5759 S 2700 West, died Sunday, February 9, 1986, in a local care center of complications from a stroke.
She was born February 26, 1889, in Roy, a daughter of Hyrum Monroe and Caroline Baker Bell Olmstead.
She married Abiah Wadsworth Child December 5, 1906, in Roy. The marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He died May 24, 1979.
She was a member of the Roy LDS 14th Ward. She had been visiting teacher supervisor and had been active in the Sunday school, Primary and the religion class. She and her husband had been dance directors.
She had been a captain in the Daughters of Utah Pioneers and had lived in Roy, Riverdale, Clinton, and Dayton, Idaho.
Surviving are six sons and three daughters, Fredrick A. Child, Mrs. Jack (Thelma) Weir, and Mrs. Udell (Fern) Kearl, all of Roy; Ralph W. Child, Eden, Idaho; Ellis H. Child, Pleasant View; Leslie E. Child, Burley, Idaho; Norman J Child, Bear River; Dale G. Child, Rupert, Idaho; and Mrs. Jake (Neta) Rees, Coalville; 39 grandchildren, 124 great-grandchildren and 77 great-great grandchildren.
Services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the Myers Mortuary Chapel in Roy with Bishop E. Ronald Barker officiating.
Friends may call at the mortuary Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday from 10 to 10:45 a.m.
Interment in the Roy City Cemetery.
