Wouldn't life be perfect if "good bye" only meant until tomorrow?

"Forever In My Heart"

Sixteen years ago today we buried Daddy, February 25, 1993 at 2pm. It seems like only yesterday and I miss him as much today, maybe even more than when I kissed him goodbye.

My Daddy was born, grew up, spent his entire life in Newton County, knew and loved everybody. Working for Kirby Lumber Company almost 40 years, he knew every inch of the county. When I was growing up, he could tell you where everyone lived and who their families were and where they worked. We visited lots of cemeteries and rode lots of county roads and he told me stories about Newton County.

Daddy was the second son of William Harrison and Clara Lee Hall. He had three sisters who did not live to be grown who are buried at Ford Cemetery in Newton County. His only brother, W.H. "Humpy" Hall, along with two sisters, Willie B Hall Sanford and Virginia Hall Gaudet are buried near Daddy in the Newton City Cemetery.

Daddy died on February 24, 1993 on my brother Ricky's Birthday. His funeral, at his request, was held the next day February 25th at 2 p.m. at Smith Funeral Home. Our Mother died 12 days later.

Daddy was in the Army and there is a marker at his grave.

He was survived by his wife, Bennie Gibson Hall, one son, Ricky Eugene Hall, daughter, Bettie Jean Hall Cobb Jordan, one nephew, who was raised as his brother, Wendell Hall of St. Francisville, Louisiana, a sister, Minnie Alyce Hall Brown (Deceased December 7, 2011) of Nederland and, at the time of his death, six grandchildren whom he loved dearly. They are Criston Glenn Cobb, Kylie Nicole Hall, Joshua Adam Hall, Carrie Christine Hall, Kimberly Ann Hall and Chad Hebert. Another grandson was born in 2001 and his name is Kenneth Eugene Hall.

Pallbearers were Jeffrey Williams and Thomas McGraw, two of Daddy's nephews, brothers, Jerry and Johnny Westbrook, Drew Brodnax, close friend of my brother Ricky and Mike Lewis a good friend of mine.

Honorary Pallbearers were two of Daddy's life long friends, Burton Humphreys and Fred Lowe.

You can contact Daddy in heaven, in care of the angels.

Every time you think of me.......I'm right there in your heart.

"If I had a flower for every time I thought of you…I could walk through my garden forever." Alfred Tennyson

Someone remembers, someone cares. Your name is whispered in my prayers.....
