Leetonia -- Jack Eugene Allison, 74, of 5728 state Route 164, died at 7:51 p.m. Monday, March 3, 2003, at The Medical Center in Beaver, Pa., following a short illness. He was born June 19, 1928, in Chester, a son of Earl and Ruth Pugh Allison, and had lived in Leetonia for three years. He was an operating engineer for the Union Local # 66 in Pittsburgh, retiring in 1980 after 40 years of service. He was a U. S. Army veteran, having served during World War II. He is survived by his wife, the former Betty Herron; three sons, Jeffery (Lorraine) Allison of Leetonia, Jack Allison of Rogers and Tim (Gayle) Allison of East Palestine; a sister, Earla DeAngelo of Chester; seven grandchildren; a stepgrandson; a great - granddaughter; and three stepgreat - grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, William K. Allison. Funeral services will be Friday at 1 p.m. at Van Dyke-Swaney Funeral Home, with Pastor Larry Paxson officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery in Ohioville. Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday.
