Garnet Allison, 75, Retired Potter

Services are planned this afternoon for Mrs. Garnet D. Allison of St. George Street, East Liverpool, who died Saturday, Aug. 20, 1988, at 3:15 a.m. at City Hospital following a lingering illness. She was born in Lawrenceville Aug. 7, 1913, a daughter of the late Walter H. Sayre and Maude Campbell Sayre. Mrs. Allison was employed at the Homer Laughlin China Co. before retiring in 1964. She was a member of the Free Methodist Church. Her husband, Carl "Shorty" Allison, whom she married May 27, 1960, died in 1980. Survivors include a son Walter L. Trowbridge of Dale City, Va.; a daughter, Sharon Clutter of East Liverpool, with whom she resided; two stepsons, Robert Allison of Aliquippa and Jack Allison of Beaver; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Jerry (Erla) D'Angelo of Chester; two brothers, Albert Sayre and Frank Sayre of East Liverpool; three sisters, Mrs. Huey (Jo) Simmons of Newell, Mrs. Tom (Susie) Cunningham of Weirton and Mrs. Mary Herron of Hookstown; 13 grandchildren and 15 great - grandchildren. The Rev. Howard Bailes of the church is to conduct the services at 3 at the Arner Funeral Chapel. Burial is to be in Locust Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the chapel until the services.
