On May 17, 1962 Lloyd was united in marriage to Rita Kay Gruen Tackett. In addition to his wife of almost 61 years, he is survived by 2 daughters: Deanna (Ted) Buemi and Tina (Rich) Frysinger; 2 sons: Danny Tackett (Donna Lemker) and Steve Tackett (Kelly Rodgers); a stepson: Carlos May, Jr.; a brother: Robert (Pat) Tackett; 5 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Lloyd was preceded in death by 2 brothers: Carl Tackett and Orville Tackett; and 6 sisters: Mae Doan, Ruby Kathleen Courtney, Edna Hiles, Magalene Overbay, Alma Beach and Christina Tackett.
He retired as a fabricating welder with Mazak in Florence and formerly with Avey Machine and Tool. Lloyd loved coon hunting, golfing, bowling, racing cars and sitting on the porch talking to his family, neighbors and friends that would stop by to see him. He never met a stranger and was very kind to everyone he met. He leaves a legacy as a great loving and caring man who loved his family with all his heart.
Visitation will be 2:00 - 4:00 PM, Saturday, May 20, 2023 at Hamilton-Stanley Funeral Home in Verona. Funeral services will also be 4:00 PM, Saturday, at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the New Bethel Cemetery in Verona.
