Mary Magdalene Tackett Overbay was born December 1, 1934 in Livingston, Kentucky and passed away December 13, 2022 in Elsmere, Kentucky at the age of 88. She was the daughter of the late Shelby and Ida Tackett.

Mary was a homemaker and was a member of Banklick Baptist Church. After her husband, Lawrence, passed away she took over the farming duties, which she genuinely loved. In her free time, Mary enjoyed going to yard sales and playing cards. She was most passionate about her family, leaving a legacy of love and devotion to all of them, especially her grandchildren.

Mary is survived by 2 sons: Timothy (Pam) Overbay of Crittenden and Les (Connie) Overbay of Walton; 2 brothers: Robert (Patricia) Tackett of Walton and Ray (Kay) Tackett of Covington; 15 grandchildren; and several great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Overbay, in 1972; 2 daughters: Linda Booth and Lillian Jean Delaney; a brother: Carl Tackett; and 4 sisters: Kathleen Courtney, Alma Beach, Edna Hiles and Mae Doane.

Funeral services will be 12:00 PM, Saturday, December 17, 2022 at Hamilton-Stanley Funeral Home in Verona. Visitation will be 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the New Bethel Cemetery in Verona.
