Bio

I am originally from Pleasureville, Henry County, Kentucky but now live in Owen County, Kentucky. Many of my family, including my father and grandparents, are buried in the Dutch Tract Cemetery of Pleasureville. My interest in genealogy work was influenced by my father's desire to know the origination of the family name. Before the age of home computers when we would travel he would check the phone book at every stop for someone with the same last name. I have discovered there are many variations of the spelling with the original apparently being H-E-I-D-S-C-H-U-H. My main interest is in Heightchew (Hightchew), Carter, McAlister and Arnold although when I find a new lead I tend to run with it no matter where it leads. Photographing headstones not only helps me in my family research, it gives me something to keep me active in my senior years and it is something I enjoy doing.

I do not mind taking pictures for others, however, instead of searching a cemetery for a particular headstone, I try to photograph every headstone then compare the pictures with memorials in that cemetery. By doing so I have been able to post a lot of pictures to memorials without one. I also have been able to add many memorials that had not been previously entered.

As for information posted to memorials managed by me, I try to verify information I include, however, remember that others suggest edits. I do not verify the information they provide but just accept. I assume if they make a suggestion they know what they are talking about. If you see something you know not to be correct just message me via suggested edit and I will make the change.
