Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Hamilton Funeral Home, Verona, for SHELBY WILLIAM PACKETT, 68, Ky. 491, Verona, died Monday at the St. Elizabeth Hospital. A track maintenance employee with the Louisville and Nashville Railroad, retiring in 1953, he is survived by his wife, Ida; three sons, Orville, Hanover, Ind.; Lloyd Ray, Ft. Mitchell, and Robert Gene Tackett, Walton; five daughters, Mrs. Alma Beach, Worthville; Mrs. Mae Doan, Broadhead; Mrs. Edna Hiles, Mrs. Kathleen Courtney, and Mrs. Magdalene Overbay, all of Walton; a brother, Edward Tackett, Livingston, Ky.; a sister, Mrs. Laura Cromer, Mt. Vernon, Ky.; 40 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. Visitation, after 4 p.m. today. Burial in the New Bethel Cemetery, Verona.
