Thelma "Mae" Doan
December 13, 1921 ~ April 27, 2018 (age 96) Mrs. Thelma “Mae” Tackett Doan, age 96, widow of Walter Doan departed this life Friday, April 27, 2018 with her family by her side.

She was born on December 13th, 1921 in Luner, Ky., a daughter of the late Shelby and Ida Cromer Tackett. She was a homemaker, and a life long member of Providence Church of Christ. She found great joy in gardening, canning, sewing, fellowship with her church family, singing hymns and visiting with her many friends. Her greatest pride were her children, grandchildren and great granddaughter.

On September 1, 1937 she was united in marriage to Walter Doan, and from that union came five children, Larry, Vicki and Jerry, Minta Aleda & infant daughter Willene. The Doans shared 58 years of marriage prior to his death in 1995.

Those left to celebrate the life of Mae Doan are her children: Larry Doan of Brodhead,KY; Vicki Lunsford Brooks (Malcolm McPherson) of Gainesville , GA and Jerry (Sheila) Doan of Lebanon, OH. Her grandchildren: Rob Doan of Hamilton, OH Lisa Doan of Brodhead, KY. Sonya Lunsford of Los Angeles, CA, Jaime (Ben) DeHof of Cincinnati, OH and Courtney (Sam) Andrews of Cincinnati, OH and her great granddaughter, Mia Gibson of Cincinnati, OH . Her brothers: Robert (Pat) Tackett and Ray (Kay) Tackett. Her sisters: Alma (Albert) Beech, Magdalene Overbay and Kathleen Courtney, as well as a host of nieces/nephew, friends and neighbors.

Besides her parents, and her husband, she was preceded in death by children Minta Aleda Doan and infant daughter, Willene Doan. Her brothers: Orville and Carl Tackett; her sister: Edna Hiles. And her daughter-in-law, Patricia Doan.

Visitation for Mrs. Mae Doan will be Wed. May 2, 2018 from 6-9PM at the Marvin E. Owens Home for Funerals.

Funeral services will be conducted Thurs. May 3, 2018 at 11AM at the Marvin E. Owens Home for Funerals with Josh McKibben officiating.Burial will follow in the Phelps Cemetery.
