According to the 1850 Federal Census he was living with his mother in Wharton Township, Farmington, Pennsylvania along with his siblings George, Nancy, Franny, and Susanna Maria.
There is no further information pertaining to Simon Peter other than a mention in The Family of Susan Hansel Rankin - Genealogical and Personal History of Fayette County Pennsylvania, Vol 1 which states both Simon Peter and John died young.
The entire family is buried in the Hansel Cemetery, Farmington, Fayette County, Pennsylvania with the exception of Francis Marion who is buried in the Gettysburg National Cemetery. He was killed fighting the Confederates on the last day of the battle, July 3, 1863.
