Funeral services for Mrs. Ann Eugenia Waring were held at the home of her son, Roy Waring, on Thursday afteroon with the Rev. F. C. Kattner, Pastor of the Page Methodist Church, in charge.
Ann Eugenia Bruce was born at Strawberry Point, Iowa, September 21, 1854. She was the daughter of Joseph and Elizabeth Bruce.
She was married to Ezra M. Waring on August 19, 1873. Mr. Waring preceded her in death on December 2, 1917. To this union two sons and two daughters were born: Arthur, who died in 1885; Allie M. Carter, Geneva; Maud E. Jenny, Lamont, Iowa and Roy Waring of Middlebranch.
Mrs. Waring was the eldest of nine children. All the others preceded her in death.
The Waring family homesteaded near Middlebranch in 1880. There they endured many of the privations and hardships of pioneer life and left their mark on the advancement of the community.
For sixty-four years Mrs. Waring continously resided in this vicinity. During the long residence she made numerous friends and at all times, before age and ill health prevented, performed many services which endeared her to neighbors and friends.
Mrs. Evelyn Gray and Mrs. Ray Snell sang the family's favorite hymns.
Pallbearers, grandsons of the deceased, were: Kenneth, Glenn, Gerald and Keith Waring, Burchard Carter and J. W. Finch, Jr. Burial was made in the Lambert Cemetery beside the grave of her husband.
Mrs. Waring is survived by her three children, twenty-one grandchildren, and twenty-four great-grandchildren.
Out of town relatives attending the funeral were: Mrs. Florence Anson and Mrs. Cora Bruce, LaPorte, Colo; Mrs. Ed Carter and son Roy Carter, Geneva; Judge E. L. Carter and Bruchard Carter, Lincoln; Mrs. Maude Jenny, Lamont, Iowa; Keith Waring, Fairbury; and Mrs. Margaret DeLaney, Fort Collins, Colo.
